Description
A very unique Brecciated jasper pendant. Made and donated by Scott Schmir. The word “jasper” is derived from the Greek word iaspi meaning “spotted stone”. “Brecciated” jasper comes from the term “breccia”, a geological term used to define rock composed of broken fragments. Brecciated jasper also contains hematite, which it gives it red and dark tones. Similar to a hearty stew made of different meats and vegetables, Brecciated jasper is made when the earth melds sharp-angled fragments of stone together.
