This Moss agate pendant was made and donated by Scott Schmir. Moss agate is a semi-precious gemstone formed from silicon dioxide and is a form of chalcedony, a member of the quartz family. The term “moss agate” comes from the inclusions of manganese or iron that give off the appearance of moss or lichen. This beautiful moss agate pendant is translucent with fine dendritic patterns that resemble a dark green moss.
